Before you sign anything
What “fixed scope” actually means on paper
Most founders we meet have been told a price was fixed before, and found out otherwise around week six. So rather than repeat the phrase, here is what is actually in the document.
What the scope names
- Every screen listed by name, with what each one does
- The user roles and what each can and cannot do
- Integrations named individually, with the specific endpoints
- Which browsers and devices are covered
- What "done" means for each item, written as something testable
- Deployment to your infrastructure, in your accounts
What it deliberately excludes
Written down, because unstated exclusions are how fixed prices stop being fixed.
- Anything not on the list above, however small it seems
- Content, copywriting and photography, unless quoted separately
- Third-party licence and hosting costs, which are yours directly
- Native mobile apps, unless the scope says so explicitly
- Changes to an integration made by the other party mid-build
You want something added
We price it as a change, you approve it or you do not, and the original scope and date stand either way. Nothing gets absorbed silently and reappears as a delay.

That is ours. A fixed price that only protects the agency is not a fixed price, and the risk transfer is the thing you are actually buying.
